The thyroid is known as the “gas pedal” of the body.  Every cell in the body relies on thyroid hormones for metabolism regulation.  In other words, the thyroid controls how slowly or quickly the body can burn energy, make proteins, and function overall.  However, problems can arise if the thyroid gland produces too many or too few thyroid hormones.  So today, we give you an overview of different thyroid markers, what markers are considered “typical” for testing, and what biomarkers you should include for a comprehensive overview.
